Data from SME travel management company, Corporate Traveller has revealed that over half of the company’s New Zealand clients rescheduled their flight in the first six months of 2024.
Corporate Traveller New Zealand General Manager, Angie Forsyth said there was a growing trend of corporate customers looking for flexibility in their travel arrangements to better align with their everevolving schedules.
“It’s a real priority for our corporate customers – the flexibility is critical, and they’re willing to pay for the ability to change their travel arrangements,” Forsyth said.
“For those travelling for business, time is their most valuable asset, and a minute wasted is money lost.
“As a result – having the ability to move forward or push back travel times is just as important as the cost of travel itself.”
Forsyth said Corporate Traveller is prioritising access to flexibility in a way that’s productive and affordable for its customers.
“Technology is rapidly evolving, and with a heavy investment into our tech offerings we’re able to offer customers real-time access and visibility over individual travel programs.
“If you’re heading to the airport to get home sooner than you had intended, or if your meeting is running overtime and you’re not going to make your return trip, our clients can make changes to their travel online or alternatively, our travel management team are just a phone call away and can promptly adjust a client’s travel schedule.
“It saves them the need to sit on hold to the airline’s customer service line or waiting in a line at the check-in desk, which is what those that haven’t booked through a travel management company would need to do.
“By leveraging our vast network, cutting-edge technology, and unparalleled expertise, we ensure that every customer is prepared and supported to navigate the unexpected or the last-minute changes.”
Also, Forsyth adds that an increasing number of airlines are meeting the market, releasing flexible products.
“We’re seeing many airlines coming out with a range of flexi fare options, this can only be seen as great news for corporate and leisure travellers alike.”
Fosyth concludes, “overall corporate travel demand remains steady despite economic pressures.
“New Zealand businesses continue to prioritise travel to trade and build relationships with stakeholders across New Zealand and the world.
“Being a nation of small businesses, we cannot underestimate the value of a mobilised business community and workforce.”
