Emirates plans to introduce a premium economy seating option on its A380 aircraft, starting in 2020. - Virgin Australia announces Auckland to Newcastle route -
Virgin Australia has just announced their new direct flights between Auckland and Newcastle. This will run from late November through to mid-February and is the first time in 16 years that travellers will be able to travel direct. - Emirates Auckland-Bali-Dubai -
Emirates new Auckland-Bali-Dubai flight provides the only year-round non-stop daily service between Auckland and Bali, giving passengers an opportunity to visit and/or stopover in one of the most popular islands in Indonesia.

- New Sudima Hotel set to open in Auckland CBD -
A new Sudima Hotel is set to open in the summer of 2019/2020 in Auckland’s CBD. With 180-200 new rooms and a pending final design of a rooftop bar, separate restaurant and bar and a low tolerance to plastic. All single-use plastic items will be banned from this hotel. - Art Series Hotel - World’s latest checkouts -
Stay for longer at Art Series Hotels with the return of the world’s latest checkouts. Now part of Mantra Hotels, Art Series Hotels is encouraging guests to overstay their booking, depending on when the next guest checks in. From 16 July until 19 September 2018, Art Series Hotels will offer guests the chance to check out late for free, as long as no one else has booked their room. - DoubleTree Wellington opens -
A new DoubleTree Hilton hotel has recently opened in Lambton Quay, Wellington. This hotel has 106 rooms with a restaurant, bar, fitness centre and boardroom.

Starting July, AccorHotels has announced a ban on plastic straws in North and Central America. Many AccorHotels have already implemented the “straw upon request only” policy. - Marriott Hotels aim to reduce plastic -
The Marriott is replacing all small amenity bottles with recyclable dispensers containing Paul Mitchell Tea Tree products, at five select-service brands in North America with the intention to expand and reduce plastic. - Air New Zealand’s ‘FlyNeutral’ programme -
Air New Zealand has extended their carbon offset programme ‘FlyNeutral’. Under the FlyNeutral programme, Corporate and Government customers can request a carbon emissions report from their dedicated account manager, which sets out the emissions generated from their Air New Zealand travel.
