Air New Zealand announced additional flexibility for domestic travel!
Air New Zealand is putting more travel flexibility options in place for when its Domestic COVID-19 Flexibility policy expires on 31 October 2021.
The changes are as follows:
Added flexibility for Seat and Seat+bag products
As of today, changes to Seat and Seat+bag domestic products can be made on the day of travel, prior to departure with applicable fees and any fare difference.
Previously these changes had to be made before the day of travel.
Changes to product names
Additionally, there have been two product name changes to improve clarity for customers:
- flexirefund (previously flexidate) - this product provides maximum flexibility to change the date, time, destination or origin right up until departure without incurring a change fee and is fully refundable. The benefit of making free time changes on the day of travel remains.
- flexichange (previously flexitime) - enhanced flexibility has been added through the waiving of change fees for date, route, and time changes right up until departure. If customers wish to change the time of their flight on the day of travel, they can still do this for free with no fare difference.
Existing bookings
Customers with existing bookings will have the added benefits and flexibility of the new products applied to their bookings from today, including:
- Existing flexitime tickets will have flexichange fare rules applied.
- Existing flexidate tickets will have flexirefund fare rules applied.
Due to system limitations a manual reissue will be required for changes that were not previously permitted. For example:
- seat or seat+bag fare changes on the day of travel.
- flexichange reissues with no change fee (no change fee applies for travel to 31 October 2021 as per the Customer Flexibility Guide).
